Former UK MP Rory Stewart has raised alarms about the potential misuse of meme coins tied to Donald Trump, labeling them a "disgusting" form of corruption. On his podcast "The Rest is Politics," Stewart argued that these digital assets could serve as a covert mechanism for campaign contributions, bypassing traditional financial accountability.

The unregulated nature of the U.S. crypto market allows Trump to receive such contributions without disclosure, Stewart claimed. This loophole, he suggested, enables wealthy individuals and corporations to influence political decisions while remaining opaque to regulators.
